How is cork fabric made?

After being harvested, the cork is left to dry in the open air for six months. Then it is boiled and steamed to get even more elasticity. It is then heated and pressed to transform it into a compact block, which is cut into thin flexible and resistant sheets.

Its very simple and natural treatment offers a cork fabric that retains all the qualities of "raw" cork.
